LolaHemp started when founder and CEO Joey DiFrancesco adopted a chihuahua, Lola, that had developed a number of phobias due to past abuse. While prescription medications helped provide some relief, they came with a list of side effects that didn’t really help Lola’s condition. That’s when DiFrancesco discovered cannabidiol (CBD) and, within days, he noticed a major difference. Through this discovery, DiFrancesco decided to start LolaHemp, a CBD company that specializes in pet products for animals of all sizes. Their policy is their commitment to animal welfare - for every four bottles sold, they donate one bottle to an animal rescue organization.
Where does LolaHemp’s hemp come from?
All of LolaHemp’s hemp plants are grown on a certified organic, family-run farm in Boulder, Colorado, U.S.A. While they don’t run and operate the farm themselves, they are still heavily involved with the production of their products from seed to sale.
How are LolaHemp’s products manufactured?
All of LolaHemp’s products are manufactured in California. In fact, it was the manufacturers who introduced DiFrancesco to the Colorado farm that supplies them with all their hemp products. While their website doesn’t give too much detail about their manufacturing process, we do know that all of LolaHemp’s products are made using industry-standard CO2 extraction from hemp’s biomass and are always tested for contaminants.
LolaHemp’s Third-Party Testing
All of LolaHemp’s products are run through a third-party laboratory test by Pixis Labs and Cannalysis in three different stages:
-
Hemp Biomass Testing - Seeks out various aspects of the hemp itself, including its moisture and contaminants.
-
Full Spectrum Tests (Raw Oil Tests) - Seeks out a number of aspects of the raw CBD oil, including chemical residue, residual solvent, and cannabinoid/terpene counts.
-
CBD Products Tests - Seeks out the cannabinoid count in the final CBD product you purchase.
If you’d like to view LolaHemp’s lab reports, we invite you to check out their Lab Tests page. While the LolaHemp products we carry are shipped directly to us, you can still view the lab results of these products on the official LolaHemp website.
Does LolaHemp have THC in their products?
Under federal law, all CBD products must contain 0.3% of THC or less. LolaHemps follows this law strictly and you can find the THC counts through their lab tests. It should be noted that since these products are made for pets, you may want to take the extra time to seek out the THC count in LolaHemp’s products. While <0.3% THC will not have a psychoactive effect on humans, animals (especially dogs and cats) are more sensitive to THC.
Do LolaHemp’s products contain gluten?
All of LolaHemp’s products are grain- and soy-free. They’re also made using non-GMO’s. If your pet has a dietary restriction, we suggest you take a look at their website to get an idea of the ingredients in these products.
How to Use LolaHemp’s products?
This depends on the product you’re looking to purchase. LolaHemp’s products come in three different categories:
- Oils - A CBD oil is a great way to give a direct, measured-out dose to your pet. While it’s suggested you place the dropper directly in their mouths, it’s understandable that not all pets will simply allow you to do this. Another means of administration would be to place some CBD oil in their food.
- Chews - These pet treats are much easier for pets to consume in comparison to the CBD oil. You can treat it just like any other treat you may give them. Keep in mind that each chew product will have the milligram (mg) dosage labeled on the package. You’ll want to make sure you’re feeding your furry friend the proper dose.
- Topicals - A CBD topical should be applied to the most affected areas. It’s important to note that you won’t need too much of a topical for your pet to feel the effects. Simply apply as much as their skin can absorb.
If you aren’t sure how much CBD to give your pet, we suggest going by the standard rule of 3mg per 10 pounds. However, you’ll notice on all of LolaHemp’s products a “suggested use” that may be more applicable for your pet.
Do LolaHemp’s products get you high?
As mentioned, being as each of LolaHemp’s products contain 0.3% of THC or less, it’s very unlikely they’ll get you high. However, being as these are pet products, some sensitive animals may feel mild symptoms of psychoactivity.
What Do Milligram (MG) Counts Indicate?
On all of LolaHemp’s products, you’ll notice there’s a milligram (mg) count. These indicate the potency of the product. Generally speaking, the higher the milligram count, the stronger the product. This is a great way to indicate which of LolaHemp’s products are right for your pet. For example, they offer a 150mg tincture that’s ideal for smaller dogs and cats. However, if you own a large dog, you’ll probably want to go with the 600mg tincture along with higher doses.
How do you store LolaHemp’s products?
LolaHemp’s products should be stored in a cool, dry place. If you’re looking to have these products for the long term, you can always refrigerate them. Though it should be noted, this isn’t necessary if you plan on using these products over the course of a few months. A good example of a place to store would be a pantry or your medicine cabinet.
LolaHemp’s Products and Prices
LolaHemp carries three different types of CBD products; oils, chews, and topicals. While each of these will produce similar effects within your pet, they’re ideal for different circumstances.
What are the best-selling LolaHemp oils and products?
LolaHemp CBD Oil for Pets | 150mg 15mL Tincture (Internal Link)
LolaHemp’s selection of CBD oils is its most popular product. While this tincture isn’t flavored, it’s extremely effective and made from high-quality ingredients. Their 150mg 15mL tincture is ideal for animals with lighter body weight (i.e. small dogs or cats).
LolaHemp CBD Oil for Pets | 300mg 30mL Tincture
This tincture is designed similar to the one mentioned above. The main difference is its size is doubled and, therefore, its milligram count is as well. However, this tincture is not stronger than the 150mg 15mL. Rather, the larger size is designed for those who frequently offer their pet a dose of CBD.
LolaHemp CBD Oil for Pets | 600mg 60mL Tincture
If you’re looking for the best value when it comes to purchasing LolaHemp’s CBD oil, look no further than their 600mg 60mL tincture. Again, while this doesn’t change the dosage of CBD oil your pet will receive, it does offer a longer-lasting product. Not to mention, owners of larger dogs will most likely need to give more CBD to their furry friends. With that said, a larger bottle of CBD oil is ideal. Each of LolaHemp’s tinctures contains 1mg of CBD per drop (NOT full dropper). It’s suggested you give your pet 3mg of CBD for every 10 pounds they weigh.
LolaHemp Omega Hemp Soft Chews | 30 Count
If you find that your pet has a difficult time taking CBD oil, you may want to opt for LolaHemp’s Omega Hemp Soft Chews. Each chew is formulated with 3mg of full-spectrum CBD along with added omega fatty acids (3, 6, and 9). If you plan on giving your pet a daily dose of CBD, the following dosage chart is recommended to be offered twice per day:
Chew Amount |
Weight |
½ chew |
<20 pounds |
1 chew |
20 - 50 pounds |
2 chews |
50 - 75 pounds |
3 - 4 chews |
75+ pounds |
LolaHemp Omega Hemp Soft Chews | 60 Count
This product is entirely the same as the one mentioned before. The big draw here is there’s more value in purchasing a 60-count rather than a 30-count.
LolaHemp Balm Full Spectrum Hemp Topical | 200mg
If you're looking for a skin product for your pet, you’ll be interested in LolaHemp’s full spectrum balm. These can be used in various areas of the body, including the nose, ears, paws, hot spots, rashes, and wounds. Each balm is made using the following all-natural ingredients to promote skin health:
- Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice
- Beeswax
- Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil
- Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil
- Shea Butter
- Tocopherol Acetate
